Racing
For a site built around the track, this is the section everything else leans on. Racing is the country’s oldest betting product, the one TAB NZ grew out of.
A bet is taken either at fixed odds or into the tote, and the tote payout is called a dividend. TAB NZ’s rules define win, place and each way, then quinella, exacta, trifecta and first four. Horse racing, the Melbourne Cup and greyhounds all fall under this heading.
Greyhound racing winds down in stages from 1 August 2026; after that date, wagers on greyhound races are closed to offshore operators too. The Racing Integrity Board is the body watching over the sport.
