About us – kiwiracingbets

kiwiracingbets follows horse racing and the wider betting market as they stand in New Zealand: how a tote pays against fixed odds, what an offer demands of the punter, and where the law draws its lines. The site takes no bets, sells no tips and holds out no promise of a return, since no bet is certain to win.

What the site does not do

There are no accounts, no deposits and no paid selections here. A page that reads like a recommendation is a description, and a place in any list is never a licence.

Checking legal status

No register of licensed bookmakers exists in New Zealand, because only one provider is lawful. Since 28 June 2025 TAB NZ alone may offer racing and sports betting to people in New Zealand, under its brands TAB and Betcha. The Department of Internal Affairs and the texts of the Racing Industry Act 2020 and the Racing Industry Amendment Act 2025 are the sources. Any overseas bookmaker is unlicensed here, and the Department says an overseas company offering these bets is breaking the law. By the same sources, the law is aimed at the operator and not the punter.

Working with sources

A provider’s own terms, help pages and footers supply the facts about it; statutes and the publications of public bodies supply the legal ones. Odds and promotions move quickly, so a figure comes with the time and place it applied. Where a source gives out, the point is put in words and no number is made up.

Audience

The site is written for adults in New Zealand, as betting with TAB NZ is open from 18 only. It is not legal or tax advice. A reader who finds betting taking more room than intended can reach the Gambling Helpline or Safer Gambling Aotearoa.
