Legal frame in New Zealand

Under section 74AAA of the Racing Industry Act 2020, TAB NZ has been the only provider lawfully offering racing and sports betting to people in New Zealand since 28 June 2025, online through TAB and Betcha. Compliance is supervised by the Department of Internal Affairs. Because there is no licence to apply for, no other bookmaker holds one here. Betting with TAB NZ is limited to adults, with a minimum age of 18.
